Lee Gocher - 'Outlaws Ride': Top rockabilly act. I've caught Lee with his band, the Sundowners, a couple of times at the 'Prince of Wales' in Strood and they've always kicked a great rhythm. The twelve tracks on this CD were recorded during the tail end of 2004 and include Darrel Higham slapping on bass. Starting off with a Johnny Cash cover 'Cry, cry, cry', Lee keeps the beat going throughout the album. Lee wrote/ co-wrote four of the songs and the title track, 'Outlaws Ride' is more country and harks back to the sound of one of his earlier bands, 'One Track Mind'. The one note of caution is that it doesn't quite have that devil-may-care of a live set but, as long as you turn it up loud, will get your toes tapping and your feet thumping! Check out his great website as well:
